Huayhuash Trek — 6 days in the Andes

A photo essay

A selection of moments from along the way

  • Day 1 — Into the range

Long drive in, then straight into the trail. Wide valleys, slow elevation gain. Everything still feels early

  • Day 2 — Finding rhythm

Cold start. Packs on, heads down. First real pass. Breathing settles near the top.

  • Day 3 — Weather rolls in

Clear morning turns to rain by afternoon. Hail halfway up a climb. Keep moving.

  • Day 4 — Remote

Deeper into the range. Fewer signs of anything else. Just trail, mountains, and distance.

  • Day 5 — High point

Longest climb. Steep at the end. Stay at the top for a while before dropping down.

  • Day 6 — Walking out

Legs still there. Pace feels easier. Gradual way back to everything else.

A journey with friends across high mountain passes, remote valleys, and long days on foot in the Andes.
